Preparation for Private School Interviews
Coaching in social skills won’t guarantee a place in a private school but it will allow your child to stand out from the crowd when all other prerequisites are equal.
Making a good first impression is key. Your child will learn the importance of eye contact and a proper handshake, how to enter a room, grooming, posture, sitting without fidgeting, paying attention, listening skills, clear articulation and the values of respect, responsibility, honesty and compassion.
Youth
Ages 4 – 6:
Modern Manners for Minis
This program teaches etiquette and fosters children’s growth through age-appropriate, play-nourished activities that build self-esteem. The classes, 2 hours each and one week apart, are interactive and fun, with no reading skills necessary. Part One teaches the foundations of courtesy and respect and Part Two concentrates on table manners.
Ages 8 – 12:
Children’s Etiquette for Today
This program is divided into 4 parts:
- Meeting and Greeting which covers correct handshaking, introductions, conversation skills, peer/adult encounters etc.
- Personal Qualities that Count which covers vocal quality, telephone techniques, presentation skills and acts of kindness etc.
- The Etiquette of Public Places which covers appropriate behaviour in school, at special family occasions, at formal occasions, weddings, at the movies, theatre, ballet, concerts, mall etc.
- Social Events which covers the etiquette of hosting a party, from invitations to dress codes to greeting to gift giving and receiving to writing a thank you note etc.
The class is very interactive, with frequent discussions and question and answer periods.
Dining Skills for Children
Following detailed classroom instruction, students are guided, step-by-step, through a 4-course place setting, with or without actual food.
First Impressions Count (Girls & Boys)
The attention span of children this age is fleeting at best, so we combine tuition with plenty of interactive exercises, role-playing scenarios, discussions and question and answer sessions to explain the components and importance of a good first impression. Content includes correct handshaking, introductions, eye contact, posture, appearance, conversation skills, behaviour in public places, self-control, wireless etiquette, good sportsmanship and thank you letters.
Basic Manners for Boys
This class is brief, interactive and to the point, because boys of this age have little tolerance for giving up leisure time in order to learn social skills. Content focuses on correct handshaking, introductions, grooming, body language, behaviour in public, tech etiquette, good sportsmanship, overview of different cultures and customs, listening and conversation skills, peer/adult encounters and table manners.
Tween Chic (Girls)
Interactive, fun and practical tips for tweens include posture, poise, body language, skin, hair and nail care, listening and conversation skills, overview of different cultures and customs, sports and sleepover etiquette, behaviour in public places and on special occasions, invitations, dress codes, dealing with embarrassing moments, gossip and thank you letters.
Princess Tea & Etiquette (Girls)
Over a delicious Afternoon Tea, the children will learn the details involved in attending and giving a tea party: history, dress codes, invitations, shaking hands, introductions, conversation at the tea table, napkin etiquette, how to drink tea and eat the sandwiches, scones and cakes, and how to write a thank you letter. Attire is smart casual.
Ages 13 – 17:
Dining Tutorial for Teens
Following detailed classroom instruction, students are guided, step-by-step, through a 4 or 7-course place setting, with or without actual food.
Teens: Beyond Texting
Face-to-face communication is essential to your teen’s future career success but modern technology often overshadows its importance. This informal class focuses on interactive conversation, measured discussion, small talk, personal space zones, body language, facial expression and presentation skills.
The Young Sophisticate: Teen Girls
This highly interactive class teaches the foundations of grace and elegance by providing advice on how to behave appropriately in any given situation, project an air of confidence, move with poise, understand grooming, style and dress codes, attain optimal vocal impact, become skilled in meeting and greeting, behave well in public, feel comfortable eating a 7-course meal and practise the art of conversation.
Modern Manners for Young Men
Updated, common sense, practical and thoroughly contemporary, the manners in this class apply to the 21st century. A young man with social confidence who is well groomed, articulate, knowledgeable and considerate commands respect and authority.
Etiquette of Technology & Social Media
This class handles the evolving etiquette of technology and social media. Teens are tech-savvy digital natives, and impatient of boundaries, but we can offer guidelines concerning appropriate behaviour in the world of technology before they transition into the workplace.
Golf Etiquette for Teens
The game of golf is governed by a strict code of rules and an equally strict code of ethics, principles and behaviour known as Golf Etiquette. If they are new to the game, teens may lack the experience to know when they are breaking those rules and may risk offending their partners. Knowing the rules allows them to feel comfortable playing with anyone, anywhere.
Summer Job Search Guide 14+ – 17

Millennials & Gen Y’s: Business Etiquette is Essential to your Career Success
Millennials and Gen Y’s are smart, tech-savvy and a huge asset to their new Company, but if they don’t know the rules of business etiquette, they won’t find them in the Company handbook and they may miss out on advancement without understanding why. Encourage them to join our interactive, fast-paced class.
How to Ace an Interview
Most interviewers make up their minds about a candidate in the first 5 minutes. Where applicants possess equally impressive credentials, those with highly polished interpersonal and social skills will get the job. This interactive class provides solid coaching on how to market specific skills and prepare for an interview.
Preparing for the Interview over a Business Meal
If two candidates apply for the same job with the same credentials and one has poor table manners whilst the other knows proper dining etiquette, who do you think will get the job? Employers are looking for applicants who can be trusted to entertain clients in a way that reflects favourably on their Company. Dining Tutorial is held over a 4-course place setting, with or without actual food.
